When Conventional Steel Is the Right Choice

Conventional (structural) steel shines when your building has constraints that don’t fit standardized systems.

Complex Layouts

Irregular geometry, custom bay spacing, unique openings and design constraints.

Heavy Loads

Equipment loads, rooftop units, high storage loads, and large point loads.

Mezzanines & Multi-Storey

Steel framing designed for floor loads, stairs, and future fit-outs.

Crane Bays

Integration for crane runway beams and structural requirements.

Conventional vs Pre-Engineered: What’s Different?

We supply both—so you get the right system, not a one-size-fits-all pitch.

Pre-Engineered (PEB / Prefab)

Best for straightforward builds
  • Optimized standardized components
  • Often fastest for simple rectangles
  • Strong value in many use-cases

Conventional (Structural Steel)

Best for complex requirements
  • Custom member sizes and connections
  • More design freedom + architectural flexibility
  • Ideal for heavy loads, mezzanines, crane bays

FAQs

Quick answers to the most common questions we get.

Is conventional steel more expensive than pre-engineered?

It depends on complexity. For simple rectangular buildings, pre-engineered systems often win on speed and cost. Conventional steel can be the best value when your design requires custom geometry, loads, mezzanines, or crane bays.

Do you provide stamped drawings?

We can coordinate engineered and stamped drawings where required (jurisdiction dependent). Share your location and intended use, and we’ll advise what’s needed.

What do you need to quote?

Location, approximate dimensions, intended use, timeline, and any drawings/sketches you have. If you don’t have drawings, we can start with a quick discovery call.
